ash29109 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Car not turning over MK1 Focus MK1 1.6 petrol 150k聽 The alternator was replaced 3 months back, and the car has been working fine until this morning. When turning the key nothing happens, no attempt to start 馃槥 Radio works, car locks/unlocks via the key and heater and headlights work Checked the battery voltage which is at 12.52 volts Could it be the starter motor? Upon inspection I've noticed this wire that is disconnected which splits off from the alternator, any ideas where the wire goes?
TomsFocus Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Mk1's aren't my really my area.聽 I think that wire might be for the oil pressure switch though. There may be a small wire to the starter but I don't think it would have that kind of terminal on it.聽 The starter can be bench tested if you can get it out but that looks quite tight for access.
