Ford Fiesta 2019 spanner light when cold

Hi

new member here looking for help.

I have ford fiesta 2019 1.0 eco boost titanium. Had since new and only 20000 miles on the clock.

full dealer service history with next service due May 2025

Been a great car.

spanner light came on and stayed on after a cold start this afternoon. Ran rough but then after stopping and restart light went off and ran like a dream again.

starting from hot appears to be fine.

without a fault code reader I’m suspecting there may be a faulty spark plug. I know they don’t get changed to 37.5k miles but I think they may be the originals.

im on the fence just to change the spark plugs myself and hopefully the fault code archives and my suspicion is right or I get it diagnosed properly.

Changing the spark plugs isn’t going to cost a lot and may be worth a punt anyway.

I’ve read issues on brake pedal switches too.

anyone else have an opinion.

The spark plugs should have been changed at the 4th year service if it's still on scheduled servicing at a dealership.

The fault codes need to be read to determine the cause of the warning light.

Thanks guys.

I’ll need to pull my invoice to see if the spark plugs were changed at the 2nd service in May 2023 then.

was done at a local Evans Halshaw so should be easy to find.

could change my suspicions then.

it doesn’t rule out a faulty spark plug but pushing me towards getting it on a fault code reader

im not a fan of 2 year servicing to be honest having worked in the trade a while ago
