fg303
We are having a nightmare with our 2016 Ford Galaxy, and I hope someone can advise us. Ford Galaxy MK3 2016 2.0 TDCi 132KW 180HP automatic. Mileage 130,400 / Kilometers 210K The car developed issues some weeks after a timing belt replacement, with an intermittent "Transmission Limited Function" warning. Several garages suggested major repairs and to bring it to a main dealer or specialist. Ford quoted 7,500 for a new transmission and clutch. Unable to afford that, we opted for a transmission specialist who quoted 4,500. He said he replaced the clutch and that it was working fine again. He was paid 4,500, and the fault reappeared on the drive home. We returned the car to him the next day. He has had it for six weeks without a clear timeline for repair. Car rental costs have reached 1,700. He said an error is being reported for the turbo and the cam belt. He said the transmission is fine, and the problem is either down to the turbo or the timing belt, causing the engine to give incorrect information to the transmission, which is causing the transmission problem. He is trying to offload the car on us, saying he resolved any issues with the transmission which is his area, and the fault was present with the car engine before the car was brought in. He has phoned twice and said he can do no more with the car and that we need to bring it to another garage. This has been going on for months now, and we wish we had just given the car to Ford. Nazza786
Check Water Level (engine), and the oil level of the gearbox it sounds like theres not enough gear oil in there. these gearboxes have 2 sides, actuator side and gear side. The gear side is filtered and the actuator side isnt. The gearbox has to be level when the gearbox oil is changed and there is a weird way of changing the gearbox oil. You could also get the gearbox hooked up to a forscan which you can adjust the gearbox fork with. Once youve done that it should be fine.
