Taff5607
Hi My ABS pump/modulator needs replacing. I've bought a working second hand one. How easy is it to remove the old one and put in the new one. Ford were asking £1.5k for a brand new one.. hence going on to ebay
TomsFocus
Very easy to swap physically. Just unscrew the pipe unions, unbolt the support, swap them over, refit unions, then fully bleed the system. However, they usually need coding to the car on a Mk6. Plus, you should use diags to perform a service bleed to make sure there's no air left trapped in the replacement unit.

Also, as I found at recently with my wife’s MK7, the ABS bleed service functionality is only available on cars with ESP. Although seeing as you’ll be needing to use a garage/mechanic equipped with full Ford diagnostics to code the replacement ABS module, you can just let them also worry about getting the whole system bled.
