Jeipii
Hi, does anyone have the Haynes Fiesta repair manual for mk7.5 (2013-2017). I would like to know their suggestion for the timing belt change interval for 1.0 Ecoboost. I think I remember that it was less than Ford's own 10 years/150000 miles. Luke4efc
Haynes say 100k or 8 years for the 1.0L.
cjay1
Just our of interest why do haynes recommend a shorter interval than ford as they designed and built the engine shouldn't they know best as to the replacement interval?
Luke4efc
Haynes probably assume drivers will be doing more short journeys and start-stop driving so will wear the belt out faster.
mrmrva
Considering how many topics I have seen regarding snapped belt or clogged oil pump by belt debris I think Haynes recommendation is safer bet. And did not Ford initially say belt was for life and then later changed to 10y/150k?
iantt
10yrs/150k is about the life of an engine ford expect. 😂. Trouble is what's your car worth after 150k , would you then spend upwards of £800-£1000 on a belt to be fitted.
