Fiesta ST '14 Spanner Light

Hi Everyone

My fiesta is displaying the spanner LED with the 'service engine now' message.

It is off before starting the engine and comes on generally <10 mins after driving off, sometimes immediately (hot or cold start e.g. left overnight makes no difference)

I'm not noticing any signs of reduced performance, the car drives normally.

NB the car has just been serviced and is still doing it.

The dashboard test function is showing two messages, dtSt72 (could be dt5t72) and dt1049.

I have plugged in an OBD reader (Konnwei KW808) and it isn't picking up any codes, even with the engine running and the spanner illuminated.

Perhaps I need something like forscan to pick up ford specific trouble codes?

Any ideas?

Many thanks for your help

It’s just an indicator that a service is due. If you’ve just had the service done, chances are the tech working on the car forgot to reset it which is why your light is still coming on.

Hi DG98, Thank you for your reply. That's what I'd hoped but it comes on after driving for a bit, rather that at ignition and won't clear with the pedal reset trick.

I have invested in a modified ELM327. The powertrain module appears to be on the ford high speed canbus hence why not revealed with the standard OBD2 reader.

It found 3 errors, I think the issue is the code P006A - MAP - Mass or Volume Air Flow Correlation.

Anyway I reset the codes and drove round for a bit, trying to 'encourage' the fault. I couldn't get the spanner to re-appear or any codes?

If it comes on again I'll just head to the dealer now, but good to have an idea of the problem beforehand. NB vehicle is stock.

You can also record live data with the forscan program, which is pretty cool:

Hi,

I'm getting similar problems with mine. These are the four codes that come up, 3 map related one baro.

P006A:64-6C
P0106:64-2F
P1060:64-2E
P00CF:62-6C

Constant misfires and rough idle. I've replaced both baro and map sensor. Done spark plugs too. And even did ground wire in the hope it was that. I also get the clutch error but don't pay it too much attention.

I'm just wondering if you got to the bottom of your problem.

Thanks
