Hi I’ve been trying to look online for a way to get an aux for my radio (5000 c) but cannot find an adapter or anything to match my radio, there’s a button on my radio that says aux but no input anywhere, just wondering if anyone could help me out?

Is it just a straight swap? No altering of the cables?

Try Ford Part Number: 1426121
You can buy a cable that plugs into the bottom right corner of the stereo as you look at the back of the unit (square hole). Then you run the wire down to the centre console and drill a hole for the socket which is a push fit and clips in neatly as per the picture below next to the cup holder.

Edit -
I’m not 100% sure about the part number but I definitely bought the cable from a ford dealership so I know they exist.

That is indeed the correct kit number.

first reply says you need to swap the radio over. not so sure you do. As yours has an aux button on the front, it should have a socket on the back for the cable

that eBay link part is a bit expensive for what it is - 30 quid.

On eBay it looks like you can get a lead for a about three quid, it does not have the jack socket, it has a jack plug on the end of the wire. Some people might prefer that, you have just have the lead with the plug on the end hanging out of the bottom of dash or around gear lever so you don't have to use another cable between your mp3 player and the ford socket..

When I fitted the socket to our 2006 1.4tdci Zetec Climate, the lead was already there, so remove the top of the centre console and have a look!

Might save you the cost of the lead and the "fun" of trying to extract the radio......

  • 6 months later...

Just done this myself. I went the cheap route and got this item: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270675901962 for £4.99.  It works fine. The only thing is I have to crank the volume up further than normal on the head unit compared with playing a CD/radio.

One small point: people above talk about the socket for the lead being on the bottom right hand corner of the radio as you look at it. It's the bottom right corner of the plastic block of connectors, where the power and speaker cables are. If it had been the bottom right of the unit, it would be an easy job with good access through the glove compartment.  But the connector block is on the other side and the head unit has to come out. I wasted an hour or two trying to reach it from both sides - not possible with normal hands IMO.
