matt_wait
Hi everyone, hope someone can enlighten me! i have a 2015 Fiesta ST1. I have the stereo with the black buttons non NAV, has DAB. 2 tone blue LCD screen. Attached pics of similar units, mine and the one I’m looking at on eBay. I would like to upgrade to the Sony unit, with NAV if I can find one. How hard is this to undertake? I’m guessing it shouldn’t be to bad as it’s a factory unit, as long as I get a Sony unit from the same year? And I’ll need the screen, but that comes with the Sony unit on eBay. Any issues I might face? Need to change wiring? Activating the NAV or DAB? Loom? Basically any insight into this would be great before I spent the money, pull my interior apart and find out it doesn’t work. Thanks! Lebadoo
Should all be plug and play! You will need to code in with forscan and tell it you have MFD Nav low as your screen and the radio spec is branded. For the sat Nav install - you will also need a Fakra to Fakra cable (less than a fiver) that goes from the back of the radio to the display for traffic info. You will need an SD card (ford MFD maps should be had for £20) and a Fakra GPS antenna (about £6)
tomtom70
The satnav (incl. the TMC receiver) is in the display, so you'll need to route the antenna signal through the display to the radio (or forgo TMC).
