Bonnet won't close after bump

Happy Easter, everyone!

So I had a minor collision a few weeks ago and now my bonnet won't lock in place. The secondary catch still works so it won't fly up while driving, but the lever in the car does nothing.

The bumper was slightly damaged in the collision and I think the inside of it is sitting higher than it did before. Someone I know suggested I might need to replace the inside panel, but I haven't got a clue what to call it and I rather have a bit more idea when I'm asking someone to fix it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Does the bonnet release handle stay open at the angle you have shown in the picture. If so then it looks as though that cable has either snapped or has been disconnected in the collision. Can you see if the cable is attached to the latch that would normally release the bonnet, or is it hanging loose nearby. It could be something as simple as reattaching it, in the past I have seen the cable connected much like a brake cable on a bike. There is a 'socket' on the latch itself and then the cable has a ball on the end of it which sits snug in the socket. It was a looong time ago that I remember seeing that.
