I've finally sourced some spacers for the mk7, those people who proclaim the mk7 rear beam is just like the 6/6.5 have no clue.

The spacers fitted were hubcentric Eibach Pro15mm (30mm overall track) not the axle type spacers a lot of people use on the earlier Fiesta models.

anyway, here are the pics:

For the nay-sayers who may say the difference is negligable/pointless/hardly noticable (remember I went for the smallest size spacer)....

COMPARISON:

Unfortunately I haven't driven the car much after, just enough to make sure the wheels don't fall off; so I can't comment on the difference in handling (if any). I like the look of them though, wheels at the rear aren't as lost now. No scrubbing over speed humps either, even as low as I am too

yum yum, if i had my coilovers fitted still i would be buying me a set now instead of typing this. Top marks :D

Yea the front doesn't need any, look at the side on pic. Rears are in line with the front now

Thanks, I was using the rear point

That looks really good - stance like a rear wheel drive car now. It must go round corners like it is on rails now.

I have ordered the 30mm, but looking at yours maybe they might be hanging out their a bit? How in line with the rear quarter panel are they.

Posted

30mm? you sure you don't mean 30mm overall track? as that is what mine is, if you are actually refering to 30mm eachside then you are talking about 3cm... that is over an inch on each wheel, it'll look daft unless you have wide deeper dish wheels with a higher offset (thus not only fitting in the arch nicely but also compensating for the space that would have been left on the wheel inners if you stayed with normal wheels) . either way i am fairly sure you're gonna have problems with scrubbing if you have people in the back, lowered or not.

Yeah I think i have made a boo boo, i was trying to get the wheels filling out the arch a bit better, do the 15mm each side do the job or would you go 20mm i am keeping the same 17" street pack alloys but having 215/55/17 tyres put on.

Why 55?

40 on now and i fill every bump, crack and pot hole.

In that case, spacers for you would be a very bad idea, especially if you've gone for a 60mm overall track!!

Good luck. Lol

Any update on the handling etc?
